Eau des Merveilles translates to "Water of Wonders." Hermes has said that the fragrance was inspired by Ambergris. There is definitely a salt water quality to Eau des Merveilles. There is a nice sparkling peppery-orange aroma at the start but it dries down to an amber and wood fragrance.
Notes of elemi, bitter orange, Italian lemon, Indonesian
pepper, pink pepper, ambergris accord, oak, cedar, vetiver, balsam of
Peru and tears of Siam.
