Perfumer Frank Voelkl
created Esprit d’Oscar, which was meant to be an update and modernization of the original 1977 Oscar de la Renta. Occasionally, these sorts of "modernizations" work, and Esprit d'Oscar is a good example.
Esprit d’Oscar’s
notes include lemon, bergamot, citron, jasmine, orange flower, tuberose,
heliotrope, vetiver, tonka bean, and musk.
Esprit d'Oscar is a wonderful re-interpretation of the 1977 Oscar de la Renta, because it calls to mind the
original’s tuberose and sandalwood signature immediately, but then it becomes it's own fragrance, not simply a watered-down version the original.
Worth trying.
