Gucci Envy, released in 1997, created by perfumer Maurice
Roucel, is arguably the best example of a green floral launched in the past
decade. Envy is a floral, but a pretty little bouquet of flowers it
is not. A green floral accord dominates Envy and it has a slightly
metallic quality. Envy somehow manages
to be striking, yet sophisticated, floral yet green, polished yet edgy.
Envy is a modern floral beautifully demonstrating what a
perfumer’s skill and imagination can do with a classical note such as
lily of the valley.
This is a must try. Notes are listed as: hyacinth,
magnolia, green notes, jasmine, lily of the valley, violet, iris, woods, musk.
