Originally Chanel
Gardenia was created in 1925 by Ernest Beaux and sold only
as pure parfum.
Gardenia was added to the Les Exclusif line in 2007 as
an eau de toilette. The interesting tidbit about Chanel Gardenia is that there is no gardenia in the fragrance. The overall composition may remind you of the scent of gardenia but the most prominent floral note for most is usually orange blossom.
Notes ~ Top: absolutes of jasmine, gardenia,
orange blossom, and tuberose Heart: clove, sage, pimiento Base: musk, patchouli, sandalwood, and vetiver.
