Fabienne Christenson was born in Washington, DC and raised in urban DC and on a farm in Southern Maryland. She developed a keen interest in
horticulture (a trait which has served her well in perfumery). Her mother,
Shirley, was a great perfume lover and traveled to France in the 1950's a great deal,
bringing back bottles of what is now classic scent which was at the zenith of
it's beauty.
Fabienne got her Bachelors of Science from the University
of Maryland in Operations Management
(Manufacturing), her MBA from Boston University, and a BFA from the University of Cincinnati
in painting. All through her working life, she has nurtured a great love for
fragrance. Whether it was making jet engines at General Electric, or spy huts*
at a fabrications plant, her favorite recreational activity was to visit the
perfume counters at every opportunity.
As it turns out, Fabienne has a "common nose" and quite a
few other people like the gourmand style of perfumery. Now Fabienne is in the
business of making other perfume lovers happy with a lively website (with new
blends circulating in and out very frequently), an orderly but fun forum, and a
blog speaking to the more useful but little known aspects of perfumery. The
website is www.possets.com.
*Yes, these were houses for people who were stationed in the Gobi Desert
to watch what was going on there.
